Corrupted

Fern stood in a clearing, practicing her new magic when she felt a tingling sensation go throughout her whole body. She shivered and fell to the floor as her wings, larger than before, sprouted out of her back. They were now midnight black and shimmered in the moonlight.

"Oh Emmaline!" She calls as she rises to her feet.
